Pakistan's hostel market was, until recently, almost entirely offline. Students would rely on word-of-mouth recommendations, Facebook groups, and physical visits to find accommodation, a process that took weeks and often ended in disappointment.
The Problem We're Solving
Before Behostelized, finding a hostel in Pakistan meant:
- Calling dozens of numbers from unverified OLX listings
- Paying advances to hostels that looked nothing like their photos
- Having no recourse when a hostel suddenly closed or raised rents
- No standardised pricing, the same room quoted at different prices to different people
Students, especially those moving to a new city for the first time, were the most vulnerable.
What We Built
Behostelized brings three things that didn't exist before in Pakistan's hostel market:
Verification: Every listed hostel is physically inspected by our team. We verify ownership, check facilities against listed claims, and photograph rooms ourselves. The blue "Verified" badge means we've been there.
Transparency: Prices are published and fixed. No negotiation, no discrimination. What you see on Behostelized is what you pay.
Digital Agreements: Our digital booking system generates standardised agreements that protect both students and hostel owners. Advance payments are held in escrow until check-in.
The Numbers
Since launching in 2024, Behostelized has:
- Verified 500+ hostels and hotels across 17 cities
- Facilitated 10,000+ bookings
- Prevented an estimated PKR 2.5 crore in fraudulent advance payments
- Received a 4.8/5 average rating from students
What's Next
We're expanding to 30+ cities by end of 2025, launching a warden management portal (Hostelized), and building the first hostel-to-bank payment infrastructure in Pakistan.
The mission is simple: make finding safe, affordable, verified accommodation as easy as booking a flight.
